Shopify sellers: revenue share is not the same as "affiliate payouts"

By The ROOPON Team

Store owners often confuse three different ideas: customer checkout, your Shopify payouts, and ROOPON's separate affiliate ecosystem. Getting the vocabulary right saves support tickets and tax questions.

The official short version lives on roopon.com/shopify-merchants. Send that link to anyone who asks "where do I put bank details for Shopify sales?"

Customer payments

Buyers pay you through Shopify checkout. That is the same flow as selling a t-shirt — the ROOPON package is a product on your store.

Your payouts

You receive money from Shopify on your normal Shopify payout schedule. ROOPON does not replace Shopify Payments or your gateway.

ROOPON's share and app billing

The merchant dashboard and app billing flow exist so ROOPON can collect its agreed share of qualifying package sales according to merchant terms. Exact rates, caps, and status appear in your connected store dashboard — do not rely on blog numbers here.

When the full affiliate program matters

If you also want to earn through membership referrals, tracked links, or other channels outside this Shopify package flow, that may use the broader affiliate program — including payout setup where it applies. Start from become affiliate when that is your intent.

One sentence for your team

Shopify package sales = Shopify checkout + Shopify payouts; ROOPON app handles campaign sync and merchant-side settlement per terms — not a generic affiliate withdrawal form for every seller.
