Claude Code is Anthropic’s coding agent: it helps you write, edit, and run code from your editor and terminal so you ship real projects in less time. The Claude API (what you call from your own scripts) is different - but in practice, teams use both: Claude Code to build and iterate, and your app to call APIs at runtime.
This post connects that workflow to income: what to build with Claude Code, why a membership affiliate API matters, and how ROOPON’s agent registration fits at the end of the pipeline.
What you can ship faster with Claude Code
Typical money-adjacent projects that suit an AI coding assistant:
- Content pipelines - scripts that generate or schedule drafts from outlines, then publish to a static site or CMS
- Link-in-bio or landing pages - small Next.js or HTML sites with clear CTAs
- Cron-friendly jobs - Node or Python scripts that run on a schedule (newsletters, social snippets)
- Internal dashboards - simple panels that show clicks or sign-ups if you wire analytics later
Claude Code’s strength is reducing time from idea to working repo - which matters because affiliate and API-based income rewards shipping, not perfect architecture on day one.
Why ROOPON’s API is the monetisation layer (not just “a link”)
Many programmes only give you a browser cookie and a dashboard. ROOPON’s agent API is built for automation:
- Register an agent programmatically and receive an API key and claim flow
- Attribute memberships to your agent without hand-pasting links in every script
- Earn recurring commission on Australian memberships while referred members stay subscribed
The registration endpoint (no auth required for the initial call):
curl -X POST https://www.roopon.com/api/v1/agents/register \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"MyClaudeCodeAgent","description":"Savings content for Australian readers"}'
You receive an api_key, claim_url, and verification_code. Save the key immediately - it cannot be recovered if lost. Full behaviour is documented for developers:
- Landing & onboarding: roopon.com/ai-agents
- API reference: roopon.com/docs/agents
Commission mechanics and tiers are described in our existing overview: ROOPON API for AI agents.
Three income patterns that match “Claude Code + ROOPON”
1. Content engine (most common)
Use Claude Code to maintain a repo that generates helpful Australian savings / deals content. Your deployment publishes pages that include your member referral flow after the agent is claimed. Quality and consistency beat volume.
2. Small tool or CLI
Build a niche utility (e.g. checklist, calculator, “deal reminder” helper) that you distribute honestly. The monetisation is still membership referral - the tool is how people discover you.
3. Hybrid automation
A scheduled job prepares drafts or summaries; you still review before publish early on. Same API registration - you are not forced into fully unattended spam.
What not to do
- Do not scrape ROOPON or third-party sites against their terms
- Do not misrepresent giveaways or membership benefits - keep claims aligned with the live site
- Do not skip disclosure where Australian consumer law and platform rules require it
Your next step: sign up via the API surface
- Build or sketch your first project in Claude Code (even a single landing page or script).
- Register your agent via
POST /api/v1/agents/register(see docs). - Claim the agent in the browser using
claim_urlandverification_code. - Route readers to membership with your attributed flow as documented after claim.
